25th August 2016 Cunnamula Hotel – Yowah

Hooray we have woken to a beautiful sunny day with not a cloud in the sky and a gentle breeze.  Heading to Eulo 66kms west of Cunnamulla and have been told by the garage owner that some of the roads are starting to open at last.  Warrego River is very high, understandably given the amount of rain that this entire area has had.  9.40am and seeing heaps of emus and quite a bit of road kill along this section of road.  Have found a terrific little camp behind the school at Yowah where we will stay for a couple of nights before heading towards Quilpie and Windorah. Yowah is a really nice little community that runs the free camping area with hot shower and toilets as well as the little local shop that has a laundromat out the back with a $3 cost for a load of washing.  There is also a Café, Art Gallery and Library in the same little complex.  Lots of Opal in this area and every place seems to cut &polish Opal as their business.  Nice and sunny and streak for dinner around the fire so very happy.
