2nd September 2016 - Birdsville

 Last night was the worst night I have ever had whilst on a holiday.  After raining all day yesterday it poured during the night with gale force winds.  Barry & I didn't sleep a wink getting several times during the night to make sure everything was dry and shifting things around in the tent to stop it from blowing in.  We are now officially stuck here until all the mud dries up.  All roads into Birdsville are now closed and there are horses and jockeys stuck in Boulia unable to get here.  Saturday races now cancelled with a "phantom call" and "fashions on the field" being held out at the racecourse. They are still working really hard to get the track ready for some races on Sunday.  Everything drying out nicely now as the sun has decided to come out.  Barry & Kevin have walked into Birdsville to get some supplies as the track is still too boggy to get the cars out.
