3rd September 2016 - Birdsville

No rain, no wind and a terrific nights sleep and have woken to a sunny day with a slight breeze.  Barry & Kevin have taken the car into town and on leaving the camp it is still very boggy.  Later in the afternoon we drove into town to have a look around and Birdsville currently looks like a refugee camp with emergency camping in streets that have been closed off to traffic to allow the campers that were washed away to have somewhere to camp safely. Along the river looks very messy with camping equipment left lying in the rising water.  We are very lucky that we are in a good camp spot, still dry and safe.  There are caravans that we can see from our camp that wont be going anywhere for quite some time, they are surrounded by water and there are 4 of them in a circle.
